Gathering 2013 – Rathmore Walk
Why not take part in the historical walk of Rathmore today commencing at 2pm on
Sunday July 21st. from Rathmore Church, The 3 mile walk is being organised by
Rathmore community Council in conjunction with the Sliabh Luachra Walking Club.
This walk will encompass landmarks and will travel from Church to Forge Cross to
the fort on the Old Road to Bog road to Shinnagh cross to village. And will
return to Teach Iosagain in Rathmore for light refreshments. Guest speakers will
provide everyone with a detailed account of these sites on walk route and for a
video display on local archaeological sites. Further information contact :

To prepare for the Rathmore Walk event the Pride of Place Committee and
theCommunity Council have arranged a series of clean up nights, a few hours once
a week for next few weeks. We are meeting next Tuesday at Woodview at 6:30p.m.
If people would clean long roadside in vicinity of their own homes it would also
be appreciated.

The first annual Gneeveguilla National School 5k run jog or walk will take place on
the 29th of September. Training programmes will commence shortly

U8 + U6 Football training takes place on Wednesday nights in Rathbeg from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. All players
are required to have a gum shield before they can take part in the sessions.
U8 + U6 Hurling training takes place on Thursday nights in Rathbeg from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. All players are advised to wear shin guards. (Gum shields are NOT required for hurling) Hurleys
and Helmets are supplied on the night

The Summer Reading Challenge
for children will take place in Killarney Library during July and August. This
initiative is free and registration for the challenge is between 29th June and
13th July. The challenge encourages children to maintain their reading level

Strut Your Stuff Fitness Studio Rathmore.
Due to Health and Safety reasons all classes have been moved from Cullen
Community Hall while it is being renovated to Strut Your Fitness Studio,
Rathmore. Wednesdays at 7:30pm is Zumba class and Fridays at 7:30pm is pilates.

There is a DVD copying service, conversion of VHS tapes to DVD and Hi8 tapes to DVD

Summer Camps
A series of two day summer camps will be held in Teach Iosagain in July/August.
Only €20 per child (hot lunch is included). Arts n Crafts Camp: 25th July. Fun n
Games Camp 31st July, 1st August. Only €20 per child (hot lunch is included).
Only a few places left in each camp, book early to avoid disappointment.
Capoeira
Capoeira Classes will take on Mondays from 7.30-9pm for 12 years and upwards in
Teach Iosagain. Capoeira is a form of Brazilian Martial Arts & Dance. First
class is free.
Kids Sand Art Magic Workshop
A kids san art magic workshop will take place on Monday 22nd July from
10.30am-12.30pm in Teach Iosagain for 3-12 year olds. Kids Sand Art Magic is a
new and fun entertainment for kids. Sand Art Workshops involve making colourful
creative sand pictures to take home as a keepsake, the cost of the workshop is €
