The successfulapplicants will be placed in a Laundry and Recycling Furniture Project as well as a childcare facility. If you are in receipt of a social weifare payment and over 25 years old, unemployed 12 month or more or on a disability payment 6 month are more you may be interested in applying. You must be registered with the Fas Enterprise officer. Please note the successful applicant will need to obtain Garda Clearance. Calling all Householders - Free Insulation service If you are in receipt of one of the following payments you now beeligible to receive insulation service free of charge. I.R.D. Duhallow fuel allowance, family income supplement or job seekers allowance for more than 6 months and have children under 7 years and houses must be owner occupied and constructed before 2002. Thanks to increased funding our waiting list for houses is not as long as previous years so applications taken this month will have works completed before next winter. A training programme will commence in September for all new volunteers, These services require volunteers to be able to give their time freely and to be able to have the most respect and privacy for the users of this service. Tour Sliabh Luachra in Memory of Paul O' Leary & Willie Reen in Association with Sliabh Luachra Cycling Club will take place on Saturday 31stAugust. 3 Routes: 110km - Paul O' Leary Route; 65km -Willie Reen Route 65km and a Family Run. Registration from 8:00a.m. and starting time 9.30am sharp at Teach Iosagain Rathmore (behind St. Joseph’s Church Rathmore).Entry fee is €20 for the 110km and 65km routes only (€2 surcharge for non cycling lreland members.) Family Runcosts €10 per person or €20 for a family. Proceeds in aid of Kerry Stars and St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin. Cycling Helmets Compulsory - 15 years or older only, eligible forPaul O' Leary and Willie Reen routes.
Rathmore GAA – 125 Celebrations - Family Day
As part of our 125 celebrations we are having a family day in our grounds in Rathbeg on Sunday 25th of August. We'll have lots of activities for everyone to do and enjoy. Have a go at Shoot Ball, Puc Fada, Penalty shootout and lots more. Don't miss out on the chance to soak your team manager in icy cold water in the dunk tank. "Can your Dad beat the Kerry minor goalkeeper Shane Ryan in penalty kicks, he has save three this years minor championship, will your Dad break his streak?" We'll see the stars of the future play in U8 football and U12 hurling exhibition games. Our club shop will be open. Our weekly club lotto draw will be held live in the grounds at 3:00. All the action kicks off at 1:00 so don't miss it.

U8 + U6 Football training takes place on Wednesday nights in Rathbeg from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. All players are required to have a gum shield before they can take part in the sessions.
U8 + U6 Hurling training takes place on Thursday nights in Rathbeg from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. All players are advised to wear shin guards. (Gum shields are NOT required for hurling) Hurleys and Helmets are supplied on the night.
Rathmore Ladies GAA
Well done to our U12 team who beat Chorca Dhuibhne by 1 point after extra time in the County League Final last Friday. Best Wishes to Aisling Desmond and the Kerry Ladies team who take on Mayo in the TnaG Ladies All Ireland quarter-final on Saturday August 24th. The game will take place in St Brendans Park Birr at 12.30. We hope a big Kerry crowd will travel.
Leaving Cert Results
Congratulations to all the Leaving cert students who received their results last week. We wish you success in your chosen career path.
9 Km “Walk & Talk” in Memory of Grey Moynihan took place in Rathmore on Sunday last August 18th. in aid of Pieta Midwest – a vital suicide charity. The organisers wish to thank everybody who supported our walk and helped out in any way, it was appreciated.
