Rathmore Community Council has created a new fundraising committee to raise substantial monies for the development of a children's playground in Rathmore. At this inaugural meeting it was decided to have a once- off fundraising night at the dogs at Tralee Greyhound Stadium on October 12th 2013. We earnestly request your help. Duhallow fuel allowance, family income supplement or job seekers allowance for more than 6 months and have children under 7 years and houses must be owner occupied and constructed before 2002. Thanks to increased funding our waiting list for houses is not as long as previous years so applications taken this month will have works completed before next winter. As part of our 125 celebrations we are having a family day in our grounds in Rathbeg on Sunday 25th of August. We'll have lots of activities for everyone to do and enjoy. Have a go at Shoot Ball, Puc Fada, Penalty shootout and lots more. Don't miss out on the chance to soak your team manager in icy cold water in the dunk tank. "Can your Dad beat the Kerry minor goalkeeper Shane Ryan in penalty kicks, he has save three this years minor championship, will your Dad break his streak?" We'll see the stars of the future play in U8 football and U12 hurling exhibition games. Our club shop will be open. Our weekly club lotto draw will be held live in the grounds at 3:00. All the action kicks off at 1:00 so don't miss it.

U8 + U6 Hurling training takes place on Thursday nights in Rathbeg from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. All players are advised to wear shin guards. (Gum shields are NOT required for hurling) Hurleys and Helmets are supplied on the night.

Well done to our U12 team who beat Chorca Dhuibhne by 1 point after extra time in the County League Final last Friday. Best Wishes to Aisling Desmond and the Kerry Ladies team who take on Mayo in the TnaG Ladies All Ireland quarter-final on Saturday August 24th. The game will take place in St Brendans Park Birr at 12.30. We hope a big Kerry crowd will travel.

9 Km “Walk & Talk” in Memory of Grey Moynihan took place in Rathmore on Sunday last August 18th. in aid of Pieta Midwest – a vital suicide charity. The organisers wish to thank everybody who supported our walk and helped out in any way, it was appreciated.
